Distance LessonThis module is designed to assist all those associated with the teaching of languages via distance delivery. In the first instance the module is intended for experienced classroom teachers who are moving to this new mode of language teaching. The contents are, however, useful for all involved in language learning in other than a face-to-face context. The module should not be used in isolation, but should be accesses and explored in conjunction with:


It is particularly important that schools and systems explore the Best Practice Guidelines, and that teachers, in addition to this, familiarise themselves with the competencies that are associated with teaching via distance both in terms of the generic skills and attributes, and also with respect to the specific skills and attributes associated with different delivery modes and technologies.

The information contained collectively in these three documents is pertinent to all those associated with the teaching, learning, support and administration of language learning via distance delivery, particularly within the Australian context.
